What You'll Do
Set out on a remarkable e-bike journey from Brighton into the heart of the South Downs, travelling one of the region’s most scenic routes all the way to the historic town of Arundel. After collection from your accommodation, you will be taken to the workshop for a personalised e-bike fitting, helmet check and a short introduction to bike operation. Once you are comfortable and ready to ride, the adventure begins.
The tour starts by climbing gently out of Brighton along the old Dyke Railway track, leading you up to the sweeping views of Devil’s Dyke. Here you will take a break for refreshments, photos and a chance to soak in one of the most dramatic vistas in the South East. From there, the route follows the South Downs Way past Truleigh Hill, skirting Bramber Castle before continuing through the charming village of Steyning and on to the ancient hillfort of Chanctonbury Ring. As you ride westward, the landscape opens up into classic chalk downland, offering exhilarating climbs and rewarding descents.
The final section sees you descend from Rackham Hill through a beautiful valley directly into Arundel, with its fairytale castle and riverside charm. After exploring or relaxing in this historic town, you’ll board a short train ride from nearby Ford Station back to Brighton. This tour covers a full range of terrain and is best suited to confident off-road riders. With expert guiding, top-quality electric mountain bikes, snacks and bottled water included, it is a perfect way to experience the South Downs at their finest.
