What You'll Do

Set sail on a delightful cruise around Coniston Water and discover the real Wild Cat Island, made famous in the 1970s film Swallows and Amazons. This scenic 60-minute journey covers nearly the entire lake, offering beautiful views, peaceful landscapes and a touch of literary nostalgia. With a Yellow Route ticket, you can also hop on and off the boats all day long on both the Yellow and Red Routes, giving you complete freedom to explore at your own pace.Departing from Coniston Boat Landings, the Yellow Route takes you to Torver, Sunny Bank and Brantwood before completing its 7-mile circuit back to Coniston. You have the option to pause your trip at Brantwood, the former home of John Ruskin. Here, you can wander the house and gardens, browse the craft gallery and enjoy refreshments at the lakeside café before catching a later launch back. Discounted Brantwood tickets are available when booking, and will be given to you on board. With sailings roughly every hour and friendly dogs welcome, this is a relaxed, flexible and family-friendly way to enjoy the magic of Coniston Water.
